Sol Restaurant and Bar

There’s a new place to be if you’re after the tastiest tapas, a long leisurely lunch or a relaxing, intimate dinner.

Sol Restaurant and Bar has opened in the Fountain Plaza and breathed new life into the restaurant and bar scene in Erina.

The super welcoming space has been re-invigorated with the décor completed to the highest standard. There has been a fresh approach taken with the interiors, creating a beautiful and inviting atmosphere. The vibe is one you don’t want to miss!

Utilising his creative flair and ideas, the owner Craig enlisted the services of Noelene Triggs, interior designer of Serenity Interiors and Exteriors, to bring his vision to life. We at Modern Tiles were excited to be a part of the revitalisation of the restaurant and it was a seamless collaboration between Craig, Noelene and ourselves.

While working with the bare bones of the previous establishment, there was an opportunity to utilise some aspects already in place, while stamping a totally new look on the space. Rather than making the copper clad bar redundant, it was determined this would be the origin of where the refurbishment would stem from. The patina of the bar is magnificent and disposing of such a focal point would have been a costly and unnecessary experience! Embracing the bar was a genius decision and the colour scheme of the make-over took shape from here. The tile options outlaid for use in Sol were narrowed down to a large-format gloss subway tile. Clio, an imported tile in the colour Rosa was the winner. The tile features a vintage handmade look and compliments the patina of the copper bar perfectly. The tile has been installed in a vertical brick-bond pattern. Also known as a running bond pattern, it is a classic and cohesive look. Vertically installed tiles create an illusion of taller walls and higher ceilings and can make a dramatic and unexpected statement – perfect for a commercial application.

And most definitely perfect for Sol Bar and Restaurant in Erina!
